WingIts Fastening System
Install The HealthCraft Dependa-Bar Or Grab Bar (Coming in January)
Even Without Proper Stud Placement.
Installs Virtually Anywhere:
WingIts® allows for grab bar placement virtually anywhere at any point of the building or remodeling process. Use WingIts Fastening System for dry wall, tile, acrylic or fiberglass tub surrounds. Installs in approx. 15 minutes, often requires no blocking or wood studs, and eliminates the need to tear open & reconstruct walls.
Residential Installations
In residential installations, it is preferable to have blocking if you are installing into 1/2" dry wall. (WingIts alone with 1/2" drywall will only hold up to 250 pounds). Installation into ceramic tile, tub surrounds and marble, do not require blocking and have an 800lbs weight capacity.
Commercial Facilities
With 5/8" sheet rock, common in commercial facilities, no blocking is needed. This means there is no need to tear open and reconstruct existing walls, saving time and money.
WingIts Grab Bar Fastening System will exceed building code criteria for grab bars in the following wall substrates:
- 5/8" drywall - painted or wallpapered.
- 1/2" or 5/8" drywall with tub surrounds.
- 1/2" or 5/8" drywall with tile, marble and all stone.
- 1/2" or 5/8" drywall with any panel types including fiberglass, faux marble, acrylic and plastics.
- Multiple layers of drywall.
- Plaster and lath.
- 1/4" acrylic / fiberglass surrounds.
- 1/4" acrylic / tub surrounds.
- All masonry typeboards, with or without panels.
NOTE: Never install any fasteners into wet or deteriorating walls! Do not install WingIts into bare 1/2" drywall when attempting to meet commercial building codes.
FOR MAXIMUM SAFETY AND TO MEET ADA REQUIREMENTS, GRAB BARS SHOULD BE INSTALLED HORIZONTALLY 32-36" / 81-91cm FROM THE FLOOR.
Tools Required for Installation:
Regular & phillips screwdriver, drill, measuring tape, hammer or rubber mallet, 1/4" drill bit or punch, 1-1/4" carbide hole saw.
Includes one (1) WingIt bolt (not a pair), but does not include any screws for affixing to the Dependa-Bar or Grab Bar (they come with the Dependa-Bar or Grab Bar).
